#27 white spruce
(Picea glauca (Moench) Voss)
This provincial tree of Manitoba is found in all forested regions of Canada except on the Pacific Coast. White spruce is a medium-sized tree that grow up to 25m and 200 years old. it is common in northern forests and under various soil types and climatic condition. This species is important in Canada for the production of pulp and paper, landscape and lumber. Warning, do not approach white spruce needles to crush them unless you feel like smelling cat's pee yourself!!
