Generate Forest Landscapes Using R

This is an R program that can create forest landscapes (sets of polygons) of pre-specified spatial configurations (such as the number and size of units, average adjacency, etc.) randomly.

Forest Landscape Generator

The Forest Landscape Generator (FLG) is a GIS based software tool that generates sample forests for model testing purposes. Based on a user-specified distributions for stand type and age, patches are generated from a Weibull - distribution and randomly arranged in a connected landscape. The program is wriiten in the Avenue scripting language of ArcView.
